A Conversation with Avi

Inside Managed Services at Namos: A Conversation with Avi

Meet Avi

Avi joined Namos after completing his Master’s in Business Analytics and Finance at the University of Southampton. Before that, he worked across India and the Netherlands, building up several years of technical and functional experience. He’s now approaching four years with Namos and works remotely from Southampton.

So, what does a typical week in Managed Services look like?

“Managed Services isn’t just about fixing tickets,” Avi begins. “A lot of us have implementation experience, so we understand the pain points customers go through from go-live to stabilisation. The aim isn’t just to solve issues, it’s to help customers understand how to resolve things themselves where it makes sense, so the team can focus on improvements, new features, and innovation.”

A typical week blends:

  • Incident and service ticket resolution
  • Proactive work on upcoming Oracle releases
  • Client catch-ups (weekly or fortnightly)
  • Reviewing and sharing release notes
  • Working on Namos-built solutions, like the Making Tax Digital (MTD) product

The variety is constant. Some updates are quick configuration changes following an Oracle release. Others need more planning. Because customers are at different stages of adopting new features, the team uses experience from one account to help guide another.

Supporting several clients at once

Working with multiple customers is part of the appeal. Each account has a Solution Advisor who acts as a direct point of contact. “If something is urgent like a month-end blocker, we pick it up immediately. But we plan and prioritise everything else based on SLAs and agreed timelines,” Avi explains.

The team structure means no one feels isolated under pressure. Everyone works across the customer base, but each customer also has someone who knows their system in depth.

What makes Namos different?

“We’re not just working for our customers, we’re working on ourselves too. I recently spent two days at Oracle in Reading learning about AI Agents. That training helps me stay ahead of where Oracle is going and gives me what I need to guide customers on what’s coming next.”

Namos’ size is also a big factor.

“It’s big enough to deliver, but small enough to care. If a customer raises an issue, we know exactly who to pull in from ERP, HCM, EPM or PPM. If you speak to one of us, you’re speaking to the whole team.”

Culture, teamwork and why people stay

Avi laughed when asked what kind of person wouldn’t enjoy Managed Services.

“A person who doesn’t like having fun. The team is remote, but it feels like we’re in one room. Everyone is active, supportive, and one ping away. Even interns have joined and made an impact because the support is so strong.”

When things get challenging, the support doesn’t stop at the MS team. Technical consultants jump in when queries become complex. Delivery colleagues collaborate when reviewing designs from other vendors. “It’s a family,” Avi says simply.

He’s referred multiple friends to join the team and those friends have referred their own friends which probably says more than any job advert can.

Life beyond work

Although the team operates remotely, they still make time to meet. Communication days, socials, birthdays and the occasional spontaneous get-together.
