CNC have invested further in Oracle Cloud to help drive efficiencies and standardise processes within their Procurement team.
19 July 2024 – Namos Solutions, a leading Systems Integrator and Managed Service provider of Oracle Cloud Applications and Technology, is happy to announce that CNC is now live on Oracle Advanced Procurement (namely Sourcing, Supplier Qualification Management, Supplier Portal, and Procurement Contracts).
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (the CNC) are the armed police force responsible for protecting UK civil nuclear sites and nuclear materials when in transit. They are governed by the Civil Nuclear Police Authority.
CNC are a forward-thinking constabulary who understand that investment in their systems drives efficiencies and makes for a happy and successful team. They have invested a lot of time and effort over the last few years implementing several Oracle modules. With the Procurement Act changes coming later in the year they were keen to improve systems and processes to get them on the road to more efficient and transparent procurement.
Beginning in April 2024, the collaborative project between Namos and CNC went live on July 1st, concluding after three months of dedicated work. The joint efforts of Namos and CNC have enabled a genuine partnership, guaranteeing that the procurement and system administration teams are well-informed and equipped to fully utilise the new procurement modules, and that they understand the capabilities and benefits it brings to their day-to-day roles.
CNC approached Namos to implement Oracle Advanced Procurement, which covered:
- Sourcing functionality is being leveraged to perform structured negotiation processes which include inviting Suppliers to participate in negotiations, communicating with these suppliers around quotations & registering documents to support their bids whilst enabling them to analyse bids internally or externally and then perform the award to the supplier.
- Supplier Qualification Management is driving qualification initiatives, allowing Suppliers to participate in these initiatives whilst enabling them to register documents to support their qualifications and communicate with the procurement team.
- Procurement Contracts is providing CNC with a structured approach to contract creation and maintenance and acting as a repository for all the contracts that they currently have out in the market as well as any new ones going forward.
- Supplier Portal is enabling authorised suppliers to log into Oracle Cloud, maintain their profiles, monitor and participate in negotiations, monitor and participate in qualification initiatives, upload relevant documents to support their bids and qualifications, as well as enabling the supplier to raise payables invoices.
The project has been a resounding success, and the CNC team are now live and using Advanced Procurement to drive efficiencies, savings, and compliance within their procurement processes and supply chain.
CNC Head of BPSS System Support & Development, Irene Tucknott said, “This project has gone smoothly, Namos said they could do it within three months and they did. The Namos team worked in partnership with our teams, sharing their knowledge so we felt empowered. We know there is more we can do with these modules and the procurement team is excited to expand. Once we have fully embedded these areas in the processes that may be something we will look at.”
