Oracle is retiring the classic Self-Service Procurement (SSP) interface in 25C. That doesn’t mean it disappears overnight, but it will stop receiving updates, bug fixes, and enhancements. That’s why Oracle (and we) recommend transitioning to the Redwood Self-Service Procurement experience now.
The good news? Redwood is now at full parity with the classic UI for self service procurement, and in many areas, it goes further.

Redwood is Oracle’s future. The transition from the classic interface to Redwood is about delivering a dramatically better user experience, built for how people actually work today.
With Redwood, procurement becomes more intuitive, faster to navigate, and far easier for users. The responsive design works seamlessly across devices, but even more important, are the real functional gains:
- Smarter search tools reduce friction and wasted time
- Better visibility into requisitions, receipts, and approval empowers end users
- Fewer clicks and cleaner screens make training and adoption much simpler

Key Enhancements to Look Out For
Here are some improvements that genuinely make life easier:
- Search and Filtering: Fuzzy search and better filters help you find requisitions, suppliers, and items faster.
- Cart and Checkout: New table views, bulk line editing, and export to Excel (up to 10,000 records).
- Smart Forms Are Back: No more workarounds. Smart forms are now visible and searchable like before.
- Receipts and PDFs: Requesters can now access receipts and PO PDFs without needing procurement roles.
- Recoverable Tax Visibility: At last, recoverable tax is shown on the requisition summary screen.
- Improved Mobile Consistency: While not a mobile app, Redwood works fluidly across devices.
- Supplier Registration Updates: External registration now includes enhanced security and better UX.

Will Oracle turn off the classic SSP in 25C?
No, but it will be retired. That means no new fixes, features, or support. It’s best to move to Redwood now, especially before issues arise.
Is Redwood SSP at full functionality compared to classic?
Yes. As of 25C, all classic SSP functionality is available in Redwood, plus some nice extras.
Do I need new licences to use Redwood SSP?
Nope. It’s part of your existing Fusion Procurement Self-Service Cloud subscription.
What about reporting? Do OTBI or BI Publisher reports break?
No. Your reports, approval rules, custom data models, and integrations will continue to work. But they should still be included in your regression testing.
Are there changes to approvals?
Not functionally, but requesters can now more easily track their requisition’s progress and see approval stages directly.
Will guided learning or integrations be impacted?
No fundamental impact. Existing integrations remain stable, and guided learning continues to work, but you can enhance it with new Redwood capabilities if you wish.
Do I have to use Redwood if I don’t need mobile access?
Yes, but this isn’t a mobile app, it’s a fully responsive web interface that works on desktops too.
We’re mid-implementation, should we still switch?
Yes. If you’re new to SSP, go straight to Redwood. No sense training users on classic now, only to retrain them later.
We use custom roles, what do we need to do?
Add two duty roles:
Requisition Self Service Application User (ORA_POR_REQUISITION_SELF_SERVICE_APPLICATION_USER)
Requisition Self Service User (ORA_POR_REQUISITION_SELF_SERVICE_USER)
If needed, inherited roles may also need to be reviewed.
Can we make Redwood the default and hide classic?
Yes, as of 24D, there’s an opt-in feature to make Redwood your default SSP experience.
Are there video tutorials or collateral to help train users?
Yes, check the Redwood Adoption Centre in Oracle’s Success Navigator. It includes screenshots, videos, and onboarding resources.
