As my accounting colleagues across Higher Education will already be very much aware, the FEHE SORP 2026 came into effect on 01/01/26.
If you missed this through the blear of a New Year hangover, this will introduce important changes to the treatment of leased assets and revenue recognition from when your new financial year begins in Aug-26.
Namos Solutions are already supporting Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in understanding these changes and implementing functionality within Oracle Cloud to ensure adoption of the new standards, but many institutions will be very much at the start of this journey.
To that end, Namos are excited to announce that we will be chairing a newly formed working group focussed on supporting HEIs understanding and adoption of these changes. This working group will:
- Provide a forum for HEIs to share knowledge, best practice, and support on their approach to adopting the accounting policy changes
- Develop standardised approaches within Oracle Cloud for meeting these requirements that can be shared across HEIs
- Provide recommendations on implementation of these standardised approaches
- Facilitate collaborative support throughout the period of adoption, both in terms of system and business process change
This group will include Namos’ many HE partners, but is open to any other HEIs on Oracle Cloud looking for support in meeting these challenges.
